Starting the work life

The "flying carpet" game requested team spirit.

Have a good time at Mahlo!

Mahlo welcomes ten new apprentices

From school desk straight into the work life: the new apprentices of Mahlo GmbH + Co. KG have taken exactly this step on 1, September. Ten young people started their career with one of world’s leading manufacturers of measurement, control and automation systems in Saal/Donau. To make their start easier, “introduction days” were first on the time table.

A short round of introduction in a friendly atmosphere with their training supervisors Eva-Maria Markl and Andreas Beil, some insights on Mahlo given by CEO Rainer Mestermann, important information, and funny team games: the apprentices’ first day at Mahlo was pretty varied. “This way, they get to know the company and themselves”, Markl and Beil explained the idea behind this. During the game “flying carpet”, the girls and boys immediately could to demonstrate their capacity for team work. In addition to that, the entrants had the chance to state their ideas and expectations, they have about their apprenticeship. A visit to the Mahlo-Museum and some tours through production completed the program of the first work days.

After that, the future industrial clerks, electronic technicians, mechatronic technicians, industrial mechanics as well as one IT specialist and one technical product designer were shown to their first stations. Every apprentice is employed in different areas of his or her field during the apprenticeship. This is very important, stressed CEO Mestermann in his welcome speech: “Always notice, what happens left and right from you. That is the way to gather a wide knowledge for your future.” Their professional success lies mostly in the apprentices’ own hands: “Continue to be hardworking, curious and determined!” Mestermann wished the entrants all the best and a great time with Mahlo on behalf of all staff.

At a total, 36 apprentices are working at Mahlo right now. The medium-sized family-owned company attaches great value on train their own specialists and on supporting the region as a strong employer.

This is what our apprentices think:

Thomas Neumayer, future industrial clerk

I already did an internship in the commercial area at Mahlo. I liked it there so much that I wanted to become an industrial clerk. I’m really looking forward to work life. Totally different from school.

Anna Rauch, future technical product designer

Even in school, technical drawing was one of my favourite subjects. The training as technical product designer is perfect, because I can intensify my knowledge on drafting.

Denis Windecker, future electronic technician

I have always been interested in knowing exactly what happens in a switch box and how that works. I’m looking forward to learning how to read circuit diagrams.
