JEC World 2019

12 - 14 Mar 2019 in Paris, France

Visit Mahlo in Paris!

We gladly welcome our visitors at our booth F73 in hall 6! Let's talk about the latest trends and development in a pulsating market.

JEC World 2019

Without composites, most industries would be up the creek. The materials made from two or more constituent components like glass fibres have conquered nearly all sectors from aircraft over construction to renewable energies. You could call it a dynamically growing branch that conquers more and more industrial areas. Especially glass fibres continue to gain ground. About 95 per cent of all manufactured composites consist of this material. It is light, weather-resistant, has a high inherent strength and various surface textures. But also other composites like carbon fibre are used in many applications. In order to keep the overview over the diverse possibilities and to find new approaches for their own production, composites manufacturers need a platform for and with the sector’s experts.

The JEC World is exactly this meeting point. It is the largest and most important trade fair solely focusing on composites. More than 40 000 visitors consist of end-user-companies and stakeholders of the composite industries from all over the world. During conferences and innovations platforms, the participants can exchange views about the latest trends and developments.

Gravimat DFI

Basis weight / thickness

Product highlights

  • Intelligent sensor with ultrafast microprocessor for preprocessing measurements
  • Precise measurements as a result of using extremely efficient beta radiation detectors
  • Four temperature-compensation sensors along with air pressure compensation

Customer benefits

  • Non-destructive, continuous determination of the weight per unit area of product webs
  • Highly stable and accurate measurement along with a minimum need to calibrate
  • The DFI allows wider measurement gaps and avoids damage to soft webs or wet coatings

Transmission of beta rays

The weight monitoring and control system measures the weight continuously, without contact, destruction-free and on moving product. The measurement is based on the attenuation of rays from a radioactive isotope through the substrate located in the measuring gap. This attenuation in intensity is an indication of the weight of the product.

The Gravimat uses a target weight to reduce the range of different m2 weights and thereby ensure a more consistent product.
