Mahlo at the 33rd Hofer Nonwoven Days

They are among the biggest specialist conferences in Europe: the Hofer Nonwoven Days. For the 33rd time already nonwoven experts from all over the world met in the beginning of November in Upper Franconia to network. Mahlo GmbH + Co. KG sent with Area Sales Manager Matthias Wulbeck a proven expert for quality control in nonwoven production.

In his talk - a part of the comprehensive lecture program that Nonwoven Days provide every year – Wulbeck introduced the advantages of quality control in the production process to the 470 participants from 13 different countries. At Mahlo the solution for this challenge is called Qualiscan QMS. The traversing quality control system with its wide selection of sensors measures, records and controls important parameters such as basis weight, moisture, thickness and air permeability on-line.  Due the wide range of scanners and measurement methods, the machines can be customized for the clients’ individual requests.

In the course of the accompanying industrial exhibition, nonwoven producers and machine builders had the change to exchange opinions on new developments, methods and optimization processes. “The interesting discussions with branch experts are one reason why the Nonwoven Days are a fixture in the company calendar”, says Wulbeck. In addition to that, Hof is the ideal place to make a few new contacts and deepen existing ones. Thus, some new projects could be initiated.

The huge success of the Hofer Nonwoven Days fits the positive development of the nonwoven market. In 2017, 9.1 million tons of nonwoven goods were produces worldwide. That is a rise of 5.4 percent.
