Highest Precision and Optimized Resource Efficiency with Orthpac RVMC-20 plus
Mahlo at ITMA Asia 2026
New straightening system combines AI-powered weft straightening with integrated process control
From November 20 to 24, 2026, Mahlo GmbH + Co. KG will present its system portfolio for the textile industry at ITMA Asia in Shanghai. Together with its local sales and service partner Kuantex and Mahlo China, the Bavarian technology specialist will demonstrate at Booth C22 in Hall 7.1 how intelligent measurement and control technology can improve the quality and efficiency of textile production processes. The spotlight will be on the new Orthopac RVMC-20 plus, which combines highly precise weft straightening with fully integrated process control.
With the Orthopac RVMC-20 plus, Mahlo has further advanced its proven technology for fully automatic distortion correction and introduced a more cost-effective alternative to its flagship model, the Orthopac RXVMC-20. Like the RXVMC-20, the new system combines two scanning units at the fabric infeed and outfeed with AI-supported control technology. While the feed-forward control system detects distortions before the straightening rollers, the closed-loop control system monitors the results at the outfeed and provides direct feedback to the controller, enabling perfect real-time weft corrections.
The interaction of both control loops ensures highly uniform fabric quality even under changing distortion conditions and at high production speeds, while significantly reducing waste during batch changes.
Process Control for Greater Efficiency and Sustainability
The straightening technology is complemented by integrated process control via the Optipac VMC-15. Mahlo’s VMC-15 continuously monitors all relevant parameters online, including dwell time, weft density, residual moisture, and exhaust air humidity, directly on the moving fabric web, thereby increasing transparency throughout the production process.
Continuous monitoring helps detect deviations at an early stage and enables more targeted use of resources. For example, it helps prevent unnecessary energy consumption caused by overdrying, enables exhaust air optimization, reduces fabric discoloration resulting from excessive dwell times, and minimizes inconsistencies within the fabric web. At the same time, waste and raw material consumption are reduced. The combination of Mahlo’s straightening system and process control therefore makes a sustainable contribution to more efficient, economical, and resource-saving textile finishing.
The Right Solution for Different Requirements
With the Orthopac RVMC-20 plus, Mahlo expands its family of straightening machines with another high-performance solution. The portfolio ranges from the Orthopac RVMC-15 as a standard weft straightener, to the Plus version featuring additional scanning at the fabric infeed, and up to the Orthopac RXVMC-20 as a high-end system with two independent straightening modules. This enables Mahlo to offer solutions for a wide variety of production requirements, sustainability objectives, and quality standards.
Requirements in textile production are highly diverse. Our broad portfolio enables us to provide the right solution for different applications, tailored to both the technical requirements and the economic objectives of our customers.
Asia as a Key Market
Asia has long been an important market for Mahlo, thanks to its diverse textile industry. The varied requirements of regional manufacturers are well aligned with the company’s broad product portfolio. ITMA Asia provides an important opportunity to present new technologies and strengthen exchanges with customers and industry partners.
On site, Ralph Greenwood-Mahlo, Owner and Managing Director, Thomas Höpfl, Head of Sales, and Clemens Kaplan, Textile Product Manager, together with local partner Kuantex, will be available for discussions.
