Flower strips for more biodiversity and bee protection

Cooperation with OGV Saal

As part of our comprehensive sustainability initiative, we have created a flower strip on our company premises at Mahlo, which has been lovingly planted by the dedicated members of the Saal an der Donau fruit and gardening association. This flower strip plays a crucial role in promoting biodiversity and helps to maintain a healthy ecosystem. Especially in times when the decline in insect populations is an increasingly pressing problem, such measures are of great importance.

The flower strip not only provides a protected habitat for numerous plant and insect species, but is also an important source of food for the bee colonies that have found a new home on our company property since spring. Bees are indispensable for the ecological balance, as they contribute significantly to the fertility of plants through their pollination activities.

Such initiatives are not only an expression of our commitment to environmental protection, but also an important part of our corporate responsibility. Even smaller companies like Mahlo have the opportunity to contribute to the promotion of biodiversity and the protection of our natural resources through targeted measures. Sustainability is not just a buzzword for us, but an essential part of our corporate philosophy.

Ramona Wieland, the 1st Chairwoman of the Fruit and Horticulture Association, carefully checked the progress of the planting together with members of our sustainability team. As a thank you for their valuable support and co-operation, the Mahlonese presented the members of the association with various plant seeds so that more flowering areas can be created in the future.
