Redefining Precision: Innovative Measurement Technology at Index 2026

 

From May 19 to 22, 2026, Mahlo GmbH + Co. KG will present its measurement and control technology at Index in Geneva, the world’s leading nonwovens exhibition. At booth 4114, the experts will introduce a new radiometric measurement solution designed to set new standards in determining basis weight and material composition.

“Our goal is to enable more efficient and high-quality nonwoven production with the right measurement technology,” explains Product Manager Matthias Wulbeck. Thanks to a broad sensor portfolio and a range of scanning frames within the Qualiscan QMS measurement and control system, the Bavarian machine builder offers the right solution for virtually every application to monitor process-relevant parameters such as basis weight, moisture, thickness, or fiber composition.

At Index, Wulbeck and his colleague Tobias Fanderl will present solutions to ensure quality, efficiency, and sustainability along the entire value chain.

One key component is the new Gravimax MMX-R sensor platform. Mahlo has designed this platform as a modular system. The application – from ultra-light nonwovens to materials with very high basis weights – determines the appropriate sensor type. This also makes it possible to cover areas where beta or transmission technologies have previously been used.

“The modular platform opens up entirely new possibilities for us to meet customer requirements with precision,” says Wulbeck.

With its presence at the trade fair in Geneva, Mahlo once again underlines its commitment to setting technological benchmarks in nonwoven quality control.
