Smart technologies for sustainable textile production
Mahlo at ITMA Asia 2025
From 28 to 31 October 2025, the international textile industry will gather at ITMA Asia in Singapore – and Mahlo will be there as part of the "German Pavilion Finishing" with innovative solutions for process optimisation. Under the motto "More efficient. More precise. More sustainable." the Bavarian family-owned company will be presenting forward-looking technologies for resource-saving and quality-oriented textile production at stand H7-A103.
At the heart of the trade fair booth is the new Orthopac RVMC-20 plus straightening system, which sets new standards with its combination of feedforward and closed-loop control.
“The resulting synergy of predictive and reactive control is a market first,” explains Thomas Höpfl, Sales Director at Mahlo. “The system detects distortions before they reach the correction rollers and adjusts them in real time—without ever overcompensating.”
With this innovation, Mahlo makes a decisive contribution to quality assurance and resource efficiency—two key requirements, especially in the Asian market.
The feedforward control analyzes the web early at the inlet and proactively adjusts the roller positions.
This is complemented by AI-supported closed-loop control at the outlet, enabling precise fine-tuning—even with short fabric pieces and high distortion dynamics.
Manufacturers of knitted fabrics, who often struggle with rapidly changing distortions, are particularly impressed.
Another advantage: the system can be retrofitted to existing Orthopac RVMC-15 series installations, making it ideal for investors who want top quality on a limited budget.
In addition to the new straightening system, Mahlo is showcasing two other key technologies for enhanced process reliability and product quality: The Famacont PMC-15 measures and controls weft thread or stitch density, helping manufacturers reliably meet guaranteed residual shrinkage values—a crucial criterion for international buyers. The Patcontrol PCS-20 detects and regulates pattern distortions and repeats, ensuring quality in lace, shoe materials, terry cloth, carpets, and all patterned goods.
Visitors also have the opportunity to bring their own fabric samples and have them tested on-site.
“Our solutions are practical and consistently geared toward sustainability—this is not just a buzzword for us, but a lived reality,” emphasizes Höpfl.
This sentiment is shared by long-standing customer Zaber & Zubair Fabrics Limited from Bangladesh, who visited the team at the booth.
“Their continued trust in Mahlo’s technology is a great affirmation of our shared commitment to quality and innovation in textile production,” says Höpfl.
