Starting a Professional Career

Around 40,000 young people across Bavaria began their vocational training on September 1, 2026. Six of them are taking this important step together with Mahlo GmbH + Co. KG in Saal. By doing so, the mechanical engineering company continues its long-standing tradition of training young professionals in the region.

Mahlo Welcomes New Apprentices

The six new apprentices will be working in a variety of areas across the company: one industrial management assistant, two electronics technicians, one warehouse logistics specialist, one mechatronics technician, and one technical product designer. β€œWe offer young people a wide range of practical training opportunities. This lays an important foundation for their professional future while also securing the future of our company,” says Yvonne Pieper, Head of Human Resources at Mahlo.

Together with Anton Scheuerer, who is responsible for technical apprenticeship training, she welcomed the newcomers on their first day at work. To help ease the transition into this new phase of life, apprenticeship training at Mahlo traditionally begins with introductory orientation days. In addition to getting-to-know-you sessions, the apprentices meet their key contacts and receive training on topics such as occupational safety, fire protection, and internal procedures. The programme also includes a company tour, a shared lunch, and an excursion with apprentices from all year groups.

β€œThis allows the young people to get to know one another right away and makes it easier for them to settle into their respective departments,” says Scheuerer. During their dual vocational training programme, which lasts between three and three and a half years, the apprentices will pass through all areas of the company relevant to their profession. This gives them a comprehensive insight into operational processes and workflows. Only in this way can successful training be ensured for both the apprentices and the company.
