Chinaplas 2025

Technology for Smarter, More Sustainable Plastics Processing

From April 15 to 18, 2025, Mahlo GmbH + Co. KG will present its latest innovations for the plastics industry at Chinaplas, the premier trade show for plastics and rubber in China. Visitors can meet the Mahlo team, led by Chinese Chief Representative Frank Fei, at Booth 10F27, where the company will showcase cutting-edge solutions for quality measurement and process control.

China remains the world’s largest producer and consumer of plastic products, driven by strong demand in sectors such as automotive, construction, packaging, and electronics. The industry is shifting towards more sustainable and efficient production methods in response to new regulations and environmental concerns. Manufacturers are under increasing pressure to enhance quality while minimizing waste and energy consumption. “The Chinese plastics market continues to evolve rapidly, with efficiency and sustainability becoming key priorities for manufacturers,” says Frank Fei, Mahlo’s China Chief Representative. “At Mahlo, we offer advanced measurement and control systems that help companies achieve these goals while maintaining the highest quality standards.”

Smart Quality Control for Increased Efficiency

Mahlo’s Qualiscan QMS quality measurement system is designed to optimize production processes by precisely monitoring critical parameters such as basis weight, moisture content, and layer thickness across the entire material width. By leveraging this modular system, manufacturers can improve energy efficiency, reduce raw material consumption, and ensure consistent product quality.

Innovations in Non-Nuclear Measurement Technology

At Chinaplas 2025, Mahlo will highlight its latest advances in non-nuclear measurement technology, including the Infrascope NIR Sensor, an infrared-based system that allows for precise real-time measurement of moisture content and basis weight in multi-layered materials. Even extremely thin silicon coatings of 0.3 to 0.5 g/m² can be accurately detected. Another key innovation is the Optoscope WLI Sensor, which uses white-light interference technology to enable precise measurement of ultra-thin coatings down to 0.4 µm, outperforming conventional systems in accuracy and reliability. These solutions help manufacturers enhance process stability, minimize material waste, and improve product quality, making them essential for the next generation of sustainable plastics production.
