Fulfilling wishes for the little ones

Machine manufacturer Mahlo donates 1,200 euros to regional institutions.

Bratwurst sandwiches at the Mahlo Maypole, raffle ticket sales at the company party, cookie sales at Christmas: Last year, the works council of the Mahlo company in Saale came up with various activities to collect money from employees for a good cause. This raised 1,200 euros. Three organizations from the surrounding area have now been delighted with the donations of 400 euros each.

Managing Director Rainer Mestermann, Works Council Chairman Matthias Ziegler and Works Council member Barbara Ipfelkofer handed over symbolic cheques to representatives of the Hl. Kreuz Kelheim-Affecking Catholic daycare center, the St. Elisabeth daycare center in Kelheimwinzer and the children's fire department of the Saal a.d. Donau volunteer fire department. The latter will use the money for an excursion. The day nursery in Kelheimwinzer is getting a new sandpit, while the day nursery in Affecking wants to buy new furniture.

These institutions were chosen this year because they all have a connection with the mechanical engineering company in one way or another. Be it that employees volunteer with the Saal volunteer fire department or that their children attend the daycare centers. "As a result, we know first-hand where the shoe pinches and the willingness to donate is even greater," explains Matthias Ziegler. The annual fundraising campaign has a long tradition at Mahlo and will of course be continued this year. The works council is already working on suitable campaigns.
