Works Council donates 900 euros to social projects

When many small contributions come together, great things happen: Thanks to the commitment of the Mahlo workforce, the works council of the Saal-based mechanical engineering company was able to donate 900 euros to charitable causes. 300 euros each went to the ‘Fröhliche Heide’ kindergarten in Saal an der Donau, the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) in Kelheim and the Mahlo Fund.

The symbolic donation cheques were presented to the representatives of the respective organisations by Matthias Ziegler, Chairman of the Works Council, together with his colleagues Barbara Ipfelkofer, Rebecca Ziegler and Eric Schneider.

The donations came from various company campaigns in 2024, including a bratwurst sale at the maypole erection and a raffle at the Mahlo summer party. ‘The great participation of our workforce shows how important social commitment is to our employees,’ emphasised Matthias Ziegler.

The donations are channelled directly into important projects: The BRK in Kelheim uses the funds for the training and further education of its volunteers as well as for urgently needed work materials. The ‘Fröhliche Heide’ kindergarten is delighted to receive a language learning kit and a sensory mat. The Mahlo Fund, on the other hand, supports employees who have fallen on hard times through no fault of their own.

What is particularly pleasing is that the beneficiary institutions were selected at the suggestion of the workforce. ‘This means we can be sure that our donations go where they are needed,’ says Ziegler.

With this campaign, Mahlo is emphasising its commitment to social responsibility and its close ties with the region.
