ICE Europe 2022

"You can't manage what you don't measure": This is the motto under which Mahlo GmbH + Co KG will present itself at the International Converting Exhibition ICE Europe from 15-17 March 2022. After difficult years at the trade fair, the industry is looking forward all the more to the experts’ meeting in Munich. Mahlo will present the perfect tool for quality control of important process parameters for continuous roll good products to the trade audience at stand 1510 in hall 5.

"Especially in the coating industry, transparent production processes can on the one hand save costs and on the other hand increase the quality of the products", says Matthias Wulbeck, Area Sales Manager at Mahlo. Informing customers and advising them on the appropriate processes to optimise the entire production setup is one of Mahlo's core competences, he says. The quality control system Qualiscan QMS-12 is exactly the right tool for the job. The renowned online measurement and control solution determines parameters such as thickness, basis weight, density, coating thickness and moisture.

Focusing on multi-channel measurement

This year, the German machine manufacturer is placing a special focus on multi-channel measurements. These enable the manufacturer to calculate several measured values. For example, a single sensor with near-infrared or white-light interference technology can determine all components or layers of a product simultaneously. For the user, this results in significantly lower costs with high measuring accuracy. In addition, the lower space requirement and less assembly effort have a positive effect. For which applications a multi-channel measurement is feasible, the experts from Mahlo clarify specifically in advance.

New data management tool for QMS

Another highlight at booth 1510 in hall 5 is the launch of the data management software mLog enhanced for the QMS series. It logs, stores and evaluates the data collected by the quality measuring system. With this analysis tool, the manufacturer can track throughout the entire production process when something was handled where, in what quality and with what efficiency. No value is lost in the process. Thanks to the visualisation, a digital twin of the goods is created with which parameters such as weight per unit area or moisture can be compared for every centimetre of the production line.

Visitors to the ICE will find further solutions tailored to their needs and requirements at the Mahlo experts' stand 1510.
