The Saal machine manufacturer Mahlo GmbH + Co KG celebrated its 75th birthday this year. IHK managing director Dr. Jürgen Helmes and IHK president Michael Matt congratulated on this occasion. They conveyed the warm congratulations of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Regensburg for Oberpfalz / Kelheim and presented the owners Ralph and Aura Greenwood-Mahlo with the certificate of honour for the 75th anniversary of the company.

The family business was founded in 1945 by Dr. Heinz Mahlo. His innovative spirit laid the foundation for the development of automated measuring and control systems for the production of web-shaped goods for the textile industry. Despite the success of straightening machines in the textile sector, the company developed a quality control system for the production of nonwovens, plastics and paper in the mid-nineties.

With the Corona crisis, the anniversary year brought some challenges even for the traditional company. "This year has shown how important it is for a company not to stand on just one mainstay," says Ralph Greenwood-Mahlo.  While the nonwovens industry is growing due to the demand for masks and medical protective clothing, the textile industry is currently in decline. During the crisis, however, Mahlo's entire production facilities remained fully functional because the company was able to manufacture many components itself, where external supply was difficult. Another important factor is the special company spirit of the "Mahlonese". The cooperation between the owner, management and employees creates the best conditions for writing the next successful chapters together.
