Start into professional life

Mahlo welcomes eleven new trainees

Mahlo's trainees

The starting signal for their apprenticeship at Mahlo GmbH + Co KG has been given: Eleven young people started their professional careers at the traditional company in Saal an der Donau on 1 September. To make the beginning easier, welcome days were first on the agenda.

For three industrial mechanics, three electronic technicians, two IT specialists, one technical system planner, one technical product designer and one industrial clerk, the first working day at Mahlo was very varied: a lot of important information about the working day from the trainers Eva-Maria Markl and Andreas Beil, a short insight into the company Mahlo with managing director Rainer Mestermann, a tour of the company and a mean pizza lunch. "It is important to us that the trainees are not thrown in at the deep end, but can first arrive," explain Markl and Beil. After all, the new phase of life is exciting in itself.

During a get-to-know-you round with the trainers and the management, the group not only learned about their hobbies, but also, for example, what makes their future colleagues and also their trainers happy or what their greatest strengths are. In addition, the young people had the opportunity to express their wishes and expectations for the apprenticeship period. A good working atmosphere, nice colleagues and an instructive apprenticeship were at the top of the list for many of them.

Quality and togetherness - the family business attaches great importance to these qualities. "Both are important pillars for our joint success," says Managing Director Rainer Mestermann. He therefore urged the newcomers to be diligent, but also not to be afraid to ask for advice.

For Mahlo, training has always played an important role. With currently 37 apprentices, the machine manufacturer wants to both prevent the shortage of skilled workers and strengthen the region as an employer.
